Planning for the Off Days

Hello there to the most amazingly wonderful person in the history of the universe.

I am so happy that you are here, and you are reading this.

We sign up for a whole bunch of email lists as we meander our way through the internet —

the fact that you found me and are reading this, really means a lot.

Thank you.

Thank you for somehow allowing me to have just a teensy tiny slice of your attention and your life.

I think you are wonderful.

Today I want to talk to you about creating a game plan for how to deal with the Sucky days.

because they are real, and they happen, and they aren’t a joke.

I love my life. I’ve got a great marriage, my kids are fantastic and are at an age they are pretty much self-reliant —
I like my job (for the most part), we aren’t drowning in debt, health seems to be on the right track —

YET.

I’m a real person and not a robot.

and a real person has highs and lows and in-betweens —

and that’s okay.

I’m not the kind of person that is going to preach to you to

Always Be Happy!
if you Count Your Blessings all will be FINE!
Go Meditate!

I don’t know about you, but it’s really hard to go have a kumbayah moment when you’re in a funk.

So I want you to plan for it.

Create a track list on your phone for music that uplifts you — for me, I like 80s hair bands. 😉

Sense when you’re about to “lose it” — and go outside and dig in the garden.

or go for a walk with no direction — just walk.

If you’re at work and you can’t leave, search YouTube for binaural beats and find something that seems promising.

If you need to veg out on the couch and watch mindless TV for the night, then do it.

it’s okay to Proactively be Unproductive.

There is nothing wrong with you.

remember? I think you’re wonderful.

🙂

So, Today’s assignment is:

create a go-to list of things that you have pre-approved to do when the “suckies” hit.

Having a pre-approved list will help steer you away from self-soothing in ways you don’t want to, such as binge-eating or binge-drinking.

Also, I’m here for you. Reach out if you’d like to chat.

lots and lots and lots of love.

you are amazing, just the way you are.

xoxo steph
